Not the first attempt at a Middle Eastern TCR category, the 24h Series Middle East Trophy’s TCR class was similarly short-lived and even less popular than its predecessor. The inaugural season of the series in 2023/24 featured a TCR class that saw a peak entry of five cars for the second round at the Dubai 24 Hour.
The other two rounds of the season were six and twelve hour endurance events, so if nothing else the series had the unique appeal within the TCR world of offering full-length endurance racing. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be much demand for such a concept. Four cars were entered for the third and final race of the first season, but the second season saw only a solitary TCR class entry for its opening round.
Rounds two and three saw just two entries and for the 2025 season the TCR class was dropped, with any TCR entries merged into the TCX class with lower tier GT machinery. Some well-known drivers made appearances in the short run of this championship’s TCR class, but there’s not much else to say about it beyond that.
